H.H. the Dalai Lama Begins 7-day Teaching In Sarnath

Sarnath, UP, India, 8 January 2009 - His Holiness the Dalai Lama began a 7-day teaching in Sarnath on Shantideva's A Guide To the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug) & Kamalashila's The Middling Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa).  Approximately 20,000 people are attending the teachings, including 1100 foreigners.  The teachings are being held near the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies.

He and thousands of others was headed for the Shiwatsel teaching ground on the other side of the Leh valley. On arrival he greeted the Lamas, dignitaries and guests and took his seat on the throne to prepare for the White Tara empowerment.
