H.H. the Dalai Lama Begins 7-day Teaching In Sarnath

Sarnath, UP, India, 8 January 2009 - His Holiness the Dalai Lama began a 7-day teaching in Sarnath on Shantideva's A Guide To the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug) & Kamalashila's The Middling Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa).  Approximately 20,000 people are attending the teachings, including 1100 foreigners.  The teachings are being held near the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies.

Mr Chandrasekhar is an independent member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, representing Karnataka and Bangalore. The Ashoka University is a fully residential university whose founders believe that education should be holistic and liberal.
