His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrives in Slovenia

Maribor, Slovenia, April 5th, 2010.  His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived today in Slovenia from India.  On His Holiness’s arrival at Ljubljana airport, a TV journalist asked His Holiness, “You are very popular in Slovenia and also in the Western World, how do you comment on that?”

“I don’t care,” said His Holiness the Dalai Lama. “My real concern is whether I myself can (do) something useful for other people. That is all. We all have the same potential. Now let us live harmoniously and with mutual respect.”

From Ljubljana airport, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with members of his entourage, drove to Slovenia’s second city Maribor, where he was welcomed by the the Mayor of Maribor and European Parliamentarian Mr. Ivo Vajgl. Outside the hotel were many people waiting to greet His Holiness, including some Tibetans who had traveled from neighbouring countries in Europe.
