Note: Below is the public schedule of His Holiness the Dalai Lama both in India as well as abroad. Please note that for many of these events, tickets are required in order to gain entrance. People are requested to contact the organizers directly or visit the websites given below for further information on tickets. In general, most of the events in India are free where as the majority of events abroad require paid tickets. For your information, as a long-standing policy His Holiness the Dalai Lama does not accept any fees for his talks. Where tickets need to be purchased, organizers are requested by our office to charge the minimum entrance fee in order to cover their costs only. Please note that the below dates are subject to change. 

2016

Teaching in Dharamsala, HP, India from August 29 to September 1: His Holiness will continue his teaching from Chapter 2 of Nagarjuna's The Precious Garland of the Middle Way (uma rinchen trengwa) at the request of a group from Asia including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam at the Main Tibetan Temple.

Mind & Life Dialogue in Brussels, Belgium from September 9 to 11: There will be a two and a half day Mind & Life Dialogue on Power and Care with leading experts in science, economics and religion to be held at the Bozar Center for Fine Arts organized by Mind & Life Europe. Public Talk in Brussels, Belgium on September 11: His Holiness will give a public talk on Individual Engagement and Global Responsibility organized in the afternoon by Mind & Life Europe at the Palais 12, Brussels Expo - Belgium. Contact Website: www.dalailama2016.be

Teaching in Strasbourg, France on September 17 & 18: On September 17, His Holiness will give a one-day teaching on Nagarjuna's Commentary on Bodhicitta (jangchup semdrel) and on September 18 morning His Holiness will confer an Avalokiteshvera Initiation (chenresig wang) organized by the Federation of Tibetan Buddhism. Teaching in Dharamsala from October 3 to 6: His Holiness will give a four-day teaching on Aryadeva's 400 Stanzas on the Middle Way (uma shigyapa) at the request of a group of Taiwanese at the Main Tibetan Temple.

Teaching in Riga, Latvia on October 10 & 11: His Holiness will give two-day teachings on Dharmakirti's Pramanavarttika (tsema namdrel) at the request of Save Tibet Foundation (Moscow) and Saglabasim Tibetu (Riga). Contact Website: http://lv.dalailama.ru/

Teaching in Zurich, Switzerland on October 14: His Holiness will give a one-day teaching on Nagarjuna's The Precious Garland of the Middle Way (uma rinchen trengwa), Kamalashila's The Middling States of Meditation (gomrim barpa) & Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo's Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma) and will also be offered a long life offering by the Tibetan Community of Switzerland & Liechtenstein. Teaching in Milan, Italy on October 21 & 22: On October 21, His Holiness will give a one-day teaching on The Three Principal Aspects of The Path (lamtso namsum) and Tsongkhapa's In Praise to Dependent Origination (tendrel toepa). On October 22 morning His Holiness will confer the Great Empowerment of Avalokiteshvara (chenresig wangchen). The teachings are organized by Ghe Pel Ling Institute for Tibetan Buddhist Studies. 2017

Kalachakra in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India from January 3 to 14: His Holiness will be giving the Kalachakra at the request of the Kashag of the Central Tibetan Administration. During the first three days of the Kalachakra, from January 3 to 5, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with the monks of Namgyal Monastery and senior lamas, will conduct rituals which prepare and consecrate the venue. These include chanting of prayers, creation of the sand mandala and other rituals. From January 6 to 8, His Holiness will give preliminary teachings on Chapter 1 of Nagarjuna's The Precious Garland of the Middle Way (uma rinchen trengwa) & Shantideva's A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug). On January 9, the Kalachakra Ritual Dance will be performed by the monks of Namgyal Monastery. His Holiness will confer the Kalachakra Initiation from January 10 to 13. On January 14, a long life empowerment (tsewang) and a ceremony offering prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be performed.

Dharamsala, HP, India, 26 August 2016 - In a letter to the Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Renzi, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed his sadness at hearing reports of the devastating earthquake that struck Central Italy with loss of many lives and injuries to many people as well as widespread damage to property. His Holiness offered his condolences to the Prime Minister and to those that lost members of their families, friends and their homes in the tragedy.
